I hope everyone enjoyed your spring break! Now, lets get back to work! :)
Here are a few reminders for the week:

Here is a sneak peek at our week:
Language Arts: This week, we will begin a class research project on Harriet Tubman. The students will work in groups to find information on Harriet Tubman. We will also by learning about suffixes and their meanings. The students will enjoy several hands-on games with this skill.
Spelling Words: length, weight, yard, foot, badly, quickly, weekly, proudly, gladly, and bravely
Challenge Words: capacity, measurement, volume, amount, area
Math: We will begin learning how to use nonstandard units of measurement. The students will be actively engaged in estimating, measuring random item around the school. I am so excited to see how they process the measurement skills that will be taught.
Science: Planets! A Voki will introduce the students to the eight major planets. A Voki is a robotic figure that looks like me and had my voice. It will be like a cartoon image on the screen teaching them the information. The students will complete a research activity for each planet. At the end of the week, the students will create their own voki that will present information they have learned about a certain planet.
