Week of October 29th

BDS Fall Festival was AWESOME!  I absolutely LOVE when my students get to pick out their outfits for the day.  My favorite discussion this week was:  "I need to be President." says a student.  "Why do you need to be President?" asked Mrs. Tiffany.  "because ALL of this world is ridiculous and they just need a little of me to fix it." says the student confidently.  I am not sure I have said this enough but I LOVE MY STUDENTS!!!!

Here are a few reminders:
-  Monday is Jersey day.
-  Wednesday is FRESS DRESS if you ordered script for the month of October.

Here is a sneak peek for next week:

Reading:  We will be finishing our chapter book, "The Election-Day Disaster" by Ron Roy.  The students will be taking an AR test at the end of the week to test for comprehension and will be writing a summary of the story.

Research Project:  I am so impressed with how the students have embraced our Presidential research project!  They are truly eager learners.  We will be finishing up our research this week.  I will send home another part of the project to be completed at home on Monday.

Spelling Words:  monster, guard, ask, picture, leader, loud, mouth, found, count, November

Challenge Words:  imagination and influence

Vocabulary Words:  No vocabulary this week!!

Language Arts:  This week, the students will be participating in centers to combine all of their knowledge on the parts of speech.  They will be asked to identify, write, and create nouns, pronouns, adjectives, and adverbs through sentence games.  We will take a test on these parts of speech on Thursday.

Math:  The students have really done well with identifying and counting money.  We will continue learning how to count and use money in different ways through centers.  The students will have a formal assessment on Thursday.
