Wow, what a fabulous day! Thank you does not begin to describe how appreciative I am for all the parents who helped make our Author Study Party a success. I want to especially thank Stephanie Grady and Terri Parker for going above and beyond in organizing and heading up all the activities. I will NEVER forget the kids faces as they participated in the pie eating contest! BDS is truly an amazing school!
Here are a few reminders:
- PE is on Monday! Don't forget to wear your jersey!
- Mark your calendars for our field trip on December 14th! We will be going to the post office to mail or letters and will then go to the zoo to learn about animals habitats. I will be sending out a permission slip next week.
- Lunch menus went out today for January! They are due December 12th!
- Don't forget to get your Christmas performance outfits together!
- Please make sure your child's name is in their jackets.
Here is a peek at what we will be doing next week:
Language Arts: We will be wrapping up friendly letters by writing a letter to Robert Munsch and Santa Claus. We will mail our letters on our December 14th field trip to the post office.
Reading: The kids truly enjoyed reading Robert Munsch books this week! We will begin studying Dr. Seuss and applying the literature roles discussed in conceptual.
Spelling Words: December, Christmas, before, after, next, dream, clean, team, mean, peak
Challenge Words: (choose two) reindeer, sleigh, ornament, decoration, lights
Math: We will be finishing up subtraction strategies and will test on these strategies Wednesday. On Thursday, we will begin learning how to add two digit numbers with and without regrouping.
I am sorry this blog is not very detailed. I am feeling much better, however, I still have not gained all of my energy back. Thank you Anna Laura Brett and Deleta Brewer for helping me in my class this week. I truly owe you the moon!
