Week of December 17th

The 2012 BDS Christmas Performance was spectacular!  Nights like these remind me of how blessed I am to be apart of such a great school.  The kids did a amazing job with their speaking parts and Adalyn was a hero for holding up our letters' fallen wing.  I know we are looking forward to the Christmas season and NO homework.  I pray you will cherish these moments with your little ones.

Here is what we will be doing for our day and a half of school:
-  Monday morning we will be performing our class Christmas song to the rest of the school.  The students need to dress as a Santa Rock Star.  For example, they can wear sunshades, a santa hat, and girls can wear bling.
-  Kristi Simmons will bring milk and peanut free cookies on Monday for all K and 1 snack.
-  This week, we will be wrapping up our unit on Dr. Seuss.  We will be watching the movie "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and of course, there will be a craft to go along. :)
-  Tuesday is a half day.  The Mississippi Natural Science Museum will be coming to entertain the kids with real, live, exotic animals!
-  On Tuesday, the students are allowed to wear their Christmas pajamas.
-  I will be ordering the kids chapter books for the next unit.  The books are on a 3.5 reading level and will be $5.  I will collect this money after Christmas.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
