Week of April 15th

We have had such a busy week.  I am so proud of how well each of my kiddos did at the Presidential Fitness run on Wednesday.  The kids have been involved in classroom jobs in order to earn money.  They received their first, official payday today.  To my surprise, many of them decided to save their money. :)  We have also bought stock in the stock market and are excited to see how much money we gain or lose.

Here are a few reminder for the week:
-  PE Monday.
-  Please email First grade photos for the yearbook.  (see newsletter)
-  Talent show and Lunch Menu is due this coming week.

Here is a sneak peek at our week:

Language Arts:  We have begun our chapter book, Lunch Money by Andrew Clement.  We will continue reading it and working on comprehension.  We will be wrapping up our lessons on prefixes and suffixes through several games.

Spelling Words:  talent, profit, credit, reward, store, sale, male, female, tales, record

Challenge Words:  quarter, cafeteria, manager, collector, investment

Math:  This week, we will continue our lessons on measuring capacity.

I hope everyone enjoys this beautiful weather this weekend.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
