I am continually amazed by my students reading scores. I will be sending home information next week to show how your child has progressed this year. Keep up the reading at home. It is making a difference!
Here are a few reminders for the week:
- P.E. Monday.
- Presidential Fitness run is Wednesday, please check newsletter for more information.
- Please see email about how to get our new chapter book. The students MUST have this book Monday morning.
Here is a sneak peek of our week:
Language Arts: We will begin our new chapter book Lunch Money by Andrew Clement. The chapter book is on a fifth grade reading level and we will be reading the entire book in class. Their vocabulary words for the next couple of weeks will come from this book. The students will also begin learning prefixes and their meanings. They will participate in many hands-on games where they will be required to place the prefix with its root words.
Spelling words: market, dollar, capital, consumer, product, power, spend, bend, lend, mend
Challenge words: economics, government, advertise, expensive, production
Math: We have mastered measuring with rulers. We will begin learning how to measure capacity and weight. I am really excited about some of the hands-on activities that are planned for this week.
Science: This week, we will be wrapping up our lesson on the moon phases.
