Week of October 28th

We are so excited about spirit week and the Fall Festival!!  Monday will be pajama day.  Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes for PE.  Tuesday is superhero day.  Wednesday is Wacky Wednesday.  Thursday is Halloween costume day.  I know this week will be FULL of memories!

Here are just a few reminders:
-  We are in need of treasure box items.  If you are able, please send small toys for our treasure box.  I LOVE to reward my kiddos with these items.
-  On November 5 at 9:00, Roma Graham will be coming to teach First grade proper etiquette. Following our lesson, we will be participating in a "Royal Tea Party." Your child will be receiving an official invitation next week. :) We are asking for the kids to arrive in their absolute best.  Girls will need to wear dresses and boys may wear their uniform with a blazer and bow tie.  Terri Parker will be providing hats for the girls.
-  Fall Festival is is Thursday!
-  Field Trip after lunch to Canebrake golf course.  Please read Kelly's email for information on this.

Here is a sneak peek at our week:

Language Arts:  We will continue reading our chapter book, "Mystery at Big Ben."  The kids are enjoying learning about the sites of London through this book.  We will be having a test on Tuesday to assess the four types of sentences.  I will be sending home a review sheet on Monday.

Spelling: thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, Halloween, then, them, these, than, less, great

Math:  We will continue learning about place value this week.  We will also apply place value to determine if two-digit numbers are greater than or less than.  You may reinforce our lessons at home by having your child group cereal in groups of ten and then ask them to count them.
